Legacy Oaks of Sacramento Assisted Living and Memory Care, located in Sacramento, CA is seeking a dedicated and passionate Caregiver to provide high-quality care to the residents in our community.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to and conveys Community’s philosophy of maintaining elements of self-care and encouraging independence.
  • Receives report from the previous shift and medication Technician.
  • Completes physical rounds with previous shift including trash, laundry, and full shift report on each resident in the assigned hall/section.
  • Reads the Shower Schedule to determine who are their assigned showers for the day.
  • Assists with activities of daily living, environmental orientation, and other care.
  • Escorts residents to and from the dining room while encouraging residents to find their own way.
  • Assist with serving meals and dining room duties as instructed.
  • Provides laundry and housekeeping services to residents assigned.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of infection control via proper handling of equipment, soiled linen, bedpans, urinals, and adequate hand washing.
  • Documents are given adhering to Community policies and procedures.
  • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors including housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Report all health, safety and sanitation concerns to direct supervisor.
  • Observes any changes in resident physical or mental status and communicates to the
    • Executive Director and Health & Wellness Director
  • Is thoroughly familiar with fire, missing persons, and other emergency procedures; Follows Community policy and procedures detailed in fire and disaster plans.
  • Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
  • Relieves front desk, providing constant coverage for call and alarm system, as well as clerical and secretarial support as requested.
  • Assures door is always alarmed.
  • Assists with resident activity programs as assigned.
  • Wears name tag at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by any member of management.

  • Performs resident care with an awareness of dignity and individuality, with understanding and concern.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance record; notifies supervisor if late or unable to work in accordance with personnel policies; follows work schedule. Requires minimal supervision. Is a self-starter.
  • Organizes and utilizes time appropriately; sets priorities and accomplishes assigned tasks.
  • Displays mature behavior and attitude in speech and action; demonstrates consistently pleasant demeanor, tone of voice, supports the philosophy and approach to care used by the Community.
  • Keeps residents confidential, respects residents’ rights, respects privacy and right to self-determination of residents.
  • Performs unpleasant tasks with grace; works cooperatively with supervisors and displays willingness to assist co-workers.
  • Abides by established policies and procedures of facility. Looks for ways to improve facility functioning.
  • Work areas neat and clean; helps maintain appearance of Community.
  • Can communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing.
  • Has the ability to spend long periods on your feet and to ambulate quickly.
  • Is accurate, dependable, neat, and thorough in assigned tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to learn quickly.

 Other Requirements:

  • Tuberculosis (TB) certificate as required by the State.
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications as required by the State.
  • Criminal Background check cleared.
  • Fingerprint clearance as required by the State.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, or minimum age as outlined in state regulations.
  • Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
  • State Criminal Background Check and LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement
  • LIC 503 Health Screening Report
